<div>Well, I must say I adored Leigh, we all did. I also got to 'meet' him about three times. First time was 1983? backstage in Paris at Michael Clarke ballet, music by The Fall, costumes by Leigh. Being a Chicago boy, I didn't know what hit me: wigs wigs wigs, makeup, platforms and lacy, frilly get-ups. Camp, camp, camp. It was the gang. Oh, then that night Le Tout Paris found themselves at the Actuel party and he like scandalized everyone single person there. They would HISS when he passed, because for all the powdered perruque, platforms and etc., miss thing's bum was completely hanging out. Then I'd see him years later when he started coming to NY and I'd always say ' hi, remember me, Vinny? I met you with Brix in Paris.' and he'd say 'oh yes,' he was always very polite, but i never had any long conversation. He was such an icon to the underground by that time. WHAT a character!
